What do we mean by partnerships?

Education curriculums and programs implemented in the global south by Western countries and NGO’s often enforce a hierarchical relationship, upholding the West as an economic and social standard. This mindset fails to recognize the value in other cultural practices. When taught in schools around the world, many Westernized ideas are unsustainable and unhealthy for many communities in the global south.

What we mean by partnerships, is that there is a relationship established between external organizations that want to create change and progress, and local existing communities. When a partnership is created, change tends to be more sustainable and less intrusive to local culture and traditions. — this is the partnership we will focus on for our project.

‘Partnership’ also means that the relationship established between organizations and their sponsors are crucial for providing the resources to implement programs.
